The 3 trendy hotel concepts (in France) in 2024

Like our world, the hotel industry is constantly changing. It's not lacking in audacity to push back the boundaries of conventionality and offer out-of-the-ordinary stays. Revolutionizing the art of entertaining, adapting to social and ecological evolutions, integrating technology intelligently. These are just three of the ways in which we can stand out from the crowd in 2024. 🧷 Let's take a look at the hotel chains and establishments that are innovating in these areas.

An innovative approach to hospitality

A hotel just for sleeping ❕❔

Not all industry professionals see their business in this way. In recent years, new concepts have been emerging and reinventing the hotel business.

Generally located in urban areas, these new-style establishments are open to the world. Anchored in neighborhood life, they offer flexible spaces with bold designs, offering authentic and unique experiences in a relaxed atmosphere. They're not just places to eat and sleep. We work, relax and socialize too. 👨‍💻🧘‍♂️🍹

Here are a few examples:

JO&JOE

The brand defines itself as a "relaxed place to live, at the crossroads of a youth hostel and a hotel". With this concept, inaugurated in 2017 in Hossegor, the Accor group is breaking with the codes of the traditional hotel business. Its target is Millenials looking for discovery and sharing in a cool atmosphere. To achieve this, they are banking on a quirky style, modular spaces that encourage exchanges between travelers and locals, and generous, zero-waste catering.

Mama Shelter

The Trivago group, which launched the concept in Paris in 2008, describes its establishments as "urban refuges". They aim to offer a dynamic place to live, where customers can relax, work, have fun and meet other people. What characterizes this chain: a popular, friendly atmosphere, original design, affordable prices, home cooking and a pinch of mischief.

The Social Hub

Formerly known as The Student Hotel, this hybrid hospitality concept born in the Netherlands in 2006 is now open to other communities. In their establishments, travelers, digital nomads, artists, entrepreneurs and locals mingle around hotel rooms, creative play areas, co-living and co-working spaces. The founders' ambition is for their hotels to be the "meeting place for the new generation of change" who want to create a fairer, greener world.

Ethical and sustainable positioning

Adding a touch of ecofriendliness is now part of the hotel business trend. Some go even further, adopting a truly virtuous policy for the planet and for people. They combine environmental considerations with a socially committed approach. Their spearheads: eco-responsible development, reducing their carbon footprint, conserving biodiversity, sustainable and ethical business practices. 🌍🌱🌳

MOB Hôtel - Saint-Ouen

Here are a few examples:

MOB HOTEL

A tribe committed to people and ecology is at the origin of this disruptive French movement born in 2011. First they opened a vegan restaurant in New York, then establishments that are as much places to live as they are hotels. They promote the values of freedom, humanity, imperfection, experimentation and inclusion. This takes the form of organic canteens, co-working spaces, festive and cultural events, shared gardens...

Coucoo Cabanes

Founded in 2009, this French concept stands out for its ecological and immersive approach. Far removed from everyday life, the creators offer an eco-friendly travel experience in harmony with nature. The cabins are built from sustainable materials, use renewable energy sources and offer comfort while preserving the planet. A special emphasis is also placed on the discovery of biodiversity and local products.

Eklo Hotel

The challenge of this made-in-France chain is to give travelers the opportunity to opt for eco-responsible accommodation without making it a luxury! Since 2011, the ambition of its founders has been to set the standard for ecological, economical and friendly hotels, without compromising on comfort. From design to operation, everything is thought out in an "eklorepsonsable" way: eco-constructions in wood, photovoltaic panels, low-energy consumption, vegetable gardens, waste management, short circuits, and so on.

Technological innovation to enhance the customer experience

Integrating the latest technologies without neglecting human relations. This is the other challenge facing the hospitality sector in the coming years. Indeed, it's impossible to ignore the many advantages of digital solutions: hyper-personalization, time-saving for guests and reception staff, easier communication... But beware of falling into the trap of "all digital". Let's see how some hoteliers are already rising perfectly to the challenge of combining high-tech with user-friendliness.🌐📱💻

In-room home automation

Here are a few examples:

Campanile Smart Bron Lyon

In 2021, Louvre Hotels Group is launching the "Smart Inside" label in Europe with this first establishment in Lyon. The 100%-connected customer journey will make stays smoother and safer.

On arrival, travelers check in autonomously at any time via a kiosk. Via a guest app, they access online services, including a virtual concierge and a room service robot. They can also adjust room settings (temperature, lighting, etc.) and take advantage of a Smart TV.

Citizen M

" Check-in and check-out in less than a minute". That's the promise made by the Citizen M chain. Installed all over the world, these modern hotels target connected customers. Their guest app makes stays contact-free: reservation management, room access, meal ordering, information on tourist attractions, room ambience control, and more.

Mercure Hotel & Spa Bastia Biguglia

A GetWelcom partner, this hotel boasts a host of amenities, including a restaurant, spa, indoor pool, wellness area and meeting rooms. A wide range of services that need to be promoted throughout the customer journey. That's why the managers decided to digitize their welcome booklet, so that their guests could book their services before and during their stay directly from the GetWelcom guest app

➡️ Like the Mercure Hotel & Spa in Bastia, get ahead of customer expectations in 2024 and go digital. You'll see, it's very simple. Let us prove it to you with a free demonstration of GetWelcom's room directory
